Arg

Right off the bat I've had issues. I can run, I can bike, but I can't swim. Not for another week, anyway. As, for the holidays, the pool has shut down operations. I guess for most people this isn't a huge deal, but for me, I'm not a great swimmer...at all. So I was really hoping to get in the water and get to work. Now, it won't be open until the new year and then we're moving, just after. So it looks like the earliest I can get some time in will be the middle of January. Guess I'll just have to work a little extra hard, is all.

And....

It's no longer my birthday. Nope, instead it's the first day of training. How did this happen, I wonder? I had, using my fingers, calculated that I didn't need to do anything for, at least, another week. December 28th, I had told myself. Then, after being pestered, repeatedly, by someone who shall not be named but knows who he is, I sat down with the calender and plotted out my training, week by week. Low and behold, today is the first day of training.

30 min. swim.

Not too bad, not as bad as some of the workouts I had to fit into the small boxes on my calendar. 5 1/2 hours bike, 1 hour swim, 3 hour run. (or something like that, I've already blocked them out - that way I can be shocked yet again, when I flip the month over and see all that writing)

30 min. swim. Followed by dinner at Sumac Ridge (our we're leaving Penticton for Prince George commiseration dinner)

I can do that, easy. :)

One work out at a time
